Embracing the Wild: A Spiritual and Physical Journey Through Hunting

The Meaningful Experience of Hunting: A Spiritual and Physical Journey

Hunting is more than just an outdoor activity—it's a profound way to connect with nature, your loved ones, and, for many, with God. Within the Azyre community, we believe hunting is about embracing the full experience of the outdoors, where each step, challenge, and moment offers an opportunity for growth. It's not just the pursuit of game; it's the beauty of rugged terrain, the stillness of nature, and the spiritual connection to something greater.

The Importance of Preparation: Physical and Spiritual

A successful hunt requires more than the right gear—it demands both physical and spiritual preparation. Staying physically fit through regular exercise helps you handle whatever terrain you may encounter, whether it's steep hills, mountains, or long hours of walking through the woods. Physical strength is key to facing the challenges of the outdoors with confidence and endurance.

But physical readiness is only part of the equation. Equally important is spiritual preparation. Before setting out on any hunt, taking time to center yourself through prayer, reflection, and devotion can transform your experience. For me, receiving my hunting tag isn't just about getting a permit—it's a blessing, an opportunity to experience God's creation in its purest form. I remind myself that "through Christ, all things are possible," which fills me with positive momentum for the adventure ahead.

Mindset and Intention: Hunting with Purpose

Before you even step into the wild, it's important to reflect on your purpose. Why do you hunt? What draws you to the outdoors? Setting personal intentions can deepen your connection to the experience and make it more meaningful. For me, hunting is about more than the chase; it's about being present in God's creation and appreciating its beauty.

A day in the field always starts with prayer. I take time to read scripture, reflect, and give thanks for the opportunity ahead. These moments of stillness ground me in faith, cultivating a spirit of gratitude. When I'm outdoors, I feel God's presence in the wind, the warmth of the sun, and the quiet peace of nature. Prayer enhances my focus and reminds me that every moment in the wild is sacred.

Connection with Nature: Embracing the Outdoors

Hunting is an immersive experience that helps you connect deeply with the environment. It's not just about pursuing game; it's about being fully present in nature. The sounds, smells, and sights of the outdoors—the earthy scent of the land, the rush of water in a stream, or the gentle breeze—remind me of God's incredible creation. Every time I step into the wild, I feel a deep sense of peace. The dirt beneath my boots, the crispness of the air, and the warmth of the sun all come together to calm the mind and nourish the soul. I always pause to thank God for the beauty surrounding me.

Sacred Practices and Appreciation: Honoring the Hunt

For many, hunting is a sacred practice—a tradition passed down through generations. It's important to honor the process and approach each hunt with respect. I like to begin each hunt by gathering with those I’m hunting with, and having each person share a positive word or uplifting thought. This simple act sets the tone for the day and aligns our hearts and minds in gratitude.

Before taking a shot, I always pause for a moment of prayer. I ask God for steady strength and clarity, that the shot be true and the animal’s passing swift and without suffering. When I harvest an animal, I feel a deep sense of reverence and gratitude. I thank God for the life taken, for the food it provides, and for the beauty of the creature. In those moments, I feel connected not just to the animal, but to all of creation.

Gratitude: A Connection to All Living Things

At the heart of hunting lies a profound sense of gratitude. It’s about recognizing the interconnectedness of all living things. Whether stalking through the woods or sitting quietly by a stream, I am constantly reminded of the gift of life and our responsibility to care for it. After each hunt, I take time to reflect on the bounty nature provides and offer thanks for the sustenance it gives, as well as the lessons learned along the way.

Conclusion: The Lessons of the Hunt

Hunting is not just about the harvest. It’s a journey that teaches patience, resilience, and respect for the natural world. Through physical and spiritual preparation, a mindset of gratitude, and a deep connection to the outdoors, hunting becomes an opportunity for personal growth. It’s not the outcome that matters most, but the process—the way each experience shapes us, teaches us, and connects us to something greater than ourselves.

At Azyre, we understand that the true essence of the outdoors is not about conquering the wilderness but about embracing it with gratitude, reverence, and love. Whether you're navigating challenging terrain, sharing the experience with loved ones, or simply taking a moment to reflect, Azyre is here to support you in your spiritual and physical journey in the wild.

Introducing Azyre’s Trinity Jewelry Line

Introducing Azyre’s Trinity Jewelry Line

Azyre was meant to be more than just apparel. The Azyre icon is a triangle, and every piece of our apparel includes the triangle.  It’s more than a shape, it has a meaning. A triangle is the strongest shape. To me, it represents the mountains and is where I feel closest to God. It personifies the most glorious trifecta- the trinity- The Father the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Excitingly so, the Azyre triangle has become a persona in itself. It sustains an aura of strength. As the Azyre team has grown I have felt so blessed to be able to share this image with them as well. Before every show, our team prays over the message we want to share through our apparel, we grow closer as a family and closer to God. Another fun way that I got to incorporate our triangle was through earrings. These beautiful trinkets were able to help us connect even more.
Azyre started as a tiny flame which has grown into dazzling colors, igniting love for the hunt, connecting lives together, warming  hearts, and bringing me personally closer to the lord.

As fate would have it, I was introduced to Becky Butterfield through our photographer Ashley Cooper. Becky had a small jewelry popup located next to  ours at Sheridan’s annual Christmas stroll. Immediately I was impressed by her work, I knew that she was meant to design Azyre’s triangle jewelry.
Before packing up I was able to speak to her about making some designs for Azyre. By the time I was able to reach out to her again, Becky had already begun to work on samples. As I got to learn more about Becky, I knew something special was going to happen when she told me she has always been drawn to the use of triangles. I was excited to see her process, she walked me through her tools, showed me her triangles, and left me in awe of her work.  The jewelry Becky created was better than anything I was able to anticipate. The time I spent with her was amazing. She had every proportion and size to a tee, her vision was pure of heart.

The Azyre Team is so excited to share the Trinity Jewelry Line with everyone. Whether it be your sister, mother, friend, or yourself, the Trinity Jewelry line is a  package of love and empowerment representative of so much more than just three lines.

Warm Regards,
Cari

Looking Forward

Looking Forward

I focus on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

During this weird time, it hasn't been possible to do all the "normal" things or follow through on many of the plans that we made.  Everyone has had to adjust their lives and move forward in a different kind of way. The great thing about people is that we all just learn to adapt.  So many of my friends were able to accomplish long overdue projects around their homes.  Other friends finally had time to focus on their wellness with more working out, walks, camping, and road trips.  This downtime has given us the opportunity to appreciate what we have around us.  Meaningful home-cooked meals as a family rather than a quick run thru drive-thru, growing a garden, relaxing on the patio with a friend, or simply enjoying being at home.

A phrase I hear a lot is that friends are just "Living Life".   That feeling is captured in this picture that I have hung up in my house by Bonnie L. Mohr:

Living Life picture

"Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be Choosy. Say "thank you", "I love you", and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord gives and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental - search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself - plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know.  Live for Today, enjoy the moment."  -Bonnie L. Mohr

I have had more time to take hikes and go shed horn hunting with my husband and dogs, Sadie & Heidi. We've fit in a few more weekend trips camping, more time target practicing with my bow and rifle is always a great time and spent some weekends just simply enjoying the outside, listening to the sound of the wind in the trees.  Our "normal" is going so fast that we almost forget or don’t take the time to appreciate the beauty all around us.

We are also looking forward- pivoting and changing at Azyre.   Instead of the big shows, I'm planning little get-togethers with women to show my apparel in person. We will also have small invite-only fashion shows for small groups.   This is an awesome opportunity for me to just have fun, while women get to first hand see and touch Azyre apparel.  That's really what the brand is all about.
